
Pierre Guicquéro has been recognized and appreciated for his musical quality for over twenty-five years on the French jazz scene.

He plays or has played in many prestigious groups such as: Paris Swing Orchestra (2000 "Fats Waller" prize from the Jazz Academy, 2003, 2009, 2014 Hot Club de France Prize), Longnon Big-Band, Soul Serenade (soulserenade.fr), l’Anachronic Jazz Band, Georges5 (www.georges5.fr), Sac à Pulses (www.sacapulses.com), Robeurt Feneck (Fremeaux & Associés), Blackstone Orchestra, Spirit Of Chicago, Big-Band Trio (with Aurélie Tropez and Gilles Réa) or The Primatics.
In 2008, eager to play his own music, he created the PG Project (www.pgproject.com), a jazz septet for which he writes the music entirely. He also has his own quartet, PG Quartet in which he plays and sings standards in a "swing and relaxed" way. He also participated in the creation of La Noche Blanca, a Caribbean salsa latin jazz music orchestra (lanocheblanca.fr)

born in Paris in June 1985. In parallel with his classical guitar studies at the conservatory, Jérôme studied with guitarist Simon Lustigman for five years. He won a first prize in guitar and chamber music, then a prize for advanced training at the CRR d'Aubervilliers (93). Throughout his musical career, he joined and formed different groups with varied styles and repertoires: classical, jazz, gypsy, Hindustani, Scottish folk, Cuban, Brazilian, etc. With his experience, Jérôme devoted himself to his new musical projects. Combining classical, oriental, South American and jazz music, he surrounded himself with musicians from different backgrounds (tabla, string quartet, gypsy violin, etc.) and co-created original arrangements. He performed in these various groups, as well as solo.

Guitarist from Clermont, discovered improvisation at the age of 16 thanks to recordings by Django Reinhardt, and thus became passionate about gypsy jazz. Later, he opened up to other musical influences, be-bop jazz, New Orleans jazz, Brazilian music... His favorite guitarists include Django Reinhardt, Grant Green, Wes Montgomery, Bireli Lagrène, and many others. His various experiences in gypsy jazz, jazz or French song groups made him a seasoned accompanist and improviser. In 2013, this self-taught guitarist devoted himself to a year of training at the CMDL (Centre de Musique Didier Lockwood), a school created by the famous violinist and directed by the duo André Charlier/Benoit Sourisse. There, he took lessons with guitarist Pierre Perchaud among others, and learned new working methods while consolidating his experience. In 2015, he played regularly in many groups, including Brintzig (gypsy music), Roll’and’bop, Pauline Alla duo (jazz), François Brunel Gypsy quartet, To trio (gypsy jazz), Doctor Jazz Brass Band (New Orleans).

First a self-taught bass player. Since the age of 13, he has gained experience in various groups: jazz, rock, song, trad'.
He studied at the Parisian jazz school of the C.I.M in 1991 and tackled classical double bass with Laurent Becamel of the Auvergne orchestra, then with Daniel Grimonprez at the Vichy conservatory.
He attended the Capbreton international meetings course with Hein van de Geyn & Palle Danielsson. As well as the Paolo Fresu course in Sardinia in 2001 where he obtained a scholarship for a tour of the Italian island with Italian musicians and trumpeter Joël Laforêt.
In 2002 he went on a European tour with American blues singer Calvin Russell: 45 dates on 2 tours: Berlin, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Bern... and French cities. In Paris: "L’Elysée Montmartre", the "Café de la danse" in Lyon: Le "Transbordeur", Festival "Swing'in Deauville", in Sète: the "Théâtre de la mer"...
He performs on national stages, festivals and in jazz clubs with the emerging generation of French jazz: Julien Alour, Daniel John-Martin, Géraldine Laurent, as well as Philippe Petrucciani, the Californian singer Gilda Solve...
In June 2016 he shared the stage with the saxophonist Stephane Guillaume, the American trumpeter Jim Rotondi alongside the Orchestre d'Auvergne conducted by Roberto Forés Veses to play "Porgy & Bess" by G. Gershwin on an arrangement by the Dutch pianist Bert van den Brink.
He can currently be heard in the Nathan Mollet Trio (album "Instants" revelation by Jazz Magazine), the "Frienztet" by Marc Verne, the quartet of Joël Laforêt, the Massif Collectif and the Family Stuff trio.
